The Langhe area has always
been associated with wine, produced according to firm traditions
passed down from generation to generation. Our family business is
situated at Montelupo Albese, at about 60 Km from Torino, right in the
heart of the Langhe.
Back in 1950 my grandfather Francesco, locally nicknamed "Cichin", used
to cultivate his own vineyards, and he sold most of the grapes he had
produced to individuals who enjoyed making their own wine from
them. Then my father Beppe took over the family business in the 1970s:
he introduced new equipment but above all he put real passion into his
rewarding job, taking the utmost care both of the vineyards and of the
cellar. I myself, Marco, have been in charge of the cellar - but with
the costant and precious help on my father Beppe and my mother Angela
- for about 10 years now. We run the 4,5 hectares we own here at
Montelupo and 3,2 hectares we rent near the town of Alba, in a place
called Pontepietra. |
